    Golf Mk4 TDI130PD

I have recently notcied that the hazard light relay is clicking for no reason. On further investigation found it to be the relay attached to the rear of the hazard switch mounted below the central air vent assembly.

On removing the switch the loom has stayed behind the dash and now I cannot retrieve the plug to fit the new switch!

In an attempt to access the switch by removing the air vent assembley, I have the grilles out and have undone the 2 torq screws but am unable to remove the assembly - are there any clips or other retaining screws?

Currently i have the car in the carpark at work and hence need to fix prior to leaving to save on hand signals!

Any instructions or advice would br great.

    Thanks,

    Paul

By looking on other forums i have managed to remove the drink holder and fit a new hazard switch.

Upon doing this the new switch/relay made a constant buzzing noise. Unplugged and replugged switch - same again.

I then removed the steering cowl and sprayed WD40 into the indicator stalk - problem solved! Now no ticking or buzzing. I found this advice else where but i felt it might be worth jnowing to others.
