    Hi can any one tell me why some cars have 16inch wheels and others have 17inch. I dont seem to able to find anywhere If they are an option or just an update of model If so what date did this happen.

    The early GT Sport models had 16" wheels as standard and 17" as options, then VW launched the GT model in it own right with 17" wheels as standard and a Sport model (replacing the SE I think) with 16" wheels...

    Excellent the one I just purchased has 17" but could not work out why some had 16" which is what I expected them to be.

    Does that mean wheels would have been option ?

    Most models have optional wheels upgrade ie 15" standard to 16", 16" standard to 17", 17" standard to 18" etc...
