hi,new member here looking for some help. my tdi 130 pd golf 2002 has decided that it dos'nt want to play any more. the engine turns over but it will not start the ignition lights go out as normal but the ABS and traction control lights stay on. the injectors are away to be tested as a sparky says that they are recieving 10 amps a piece, which is far to much. there is nothing comming from the ECU and no diagnosis information, it all seems to be dead.
any information/help please, been 5 weeks now without my motor

    cheers ian.
    update. 17/1/07
injectors back from been tested, the solenoid within each of the injectors are siezed due to some sort of fuel contamination. this may account for the high amps going to them???
just got to sort out what its done to the electrics..

Sounds strange that all the injectors decided to curl up and die at the same time.
Its also strange that they are drawing a total of 40 amps, I would expect this from a set of glow plugs but not injectors, I would have thought something like that would show on a diagnostic! I assume there is plenty of fuel in the car????

Is this the opinion of a main dealer or the garage round the corner? If its the latter, I'd get a second opinion.

Good luck with it, could you keep us posted with what progress you make with it, fault finding/diagnostics etc and also finally, when its fixed, the cure.

    Welcome to VWAF.

On PD engines, ussually the tandem pump pickup (the one in the tank) gets blocked and such, no diesel passes to prime the main injectors. Its highly unusual that all 4 duses failed at the same time, ussually, any contamination stops in the filter. Glad to hear that you are back on track !
