When I bought my B6 there was what looks like water spots behind the plastic trim in front of my instrument cluster. You can imagine how much that can annoy someone since that is where I am looking every time I drive the car. How do I remove the plastic trim? I was watching a video an how to install an RNS-E and they did it in like a second but did not show how. Thanks a lot for your help! Can't wait to clean it.

If I am not mistaken, there is a plastic trim piece in front of the instrument cluster, which also has a plastic cover. It looks as though the spots are on the trim piece that is in front of the cluster. So I dont want to take out the cluster, just the clear plastic piece in front of it. Does this make sense at all?

Right, I dont know how, but the previous owner managed to get spots on the inside of the plastic trim. I need to take it out to clean the inside of it.

If you pull the plastic panel inbetween the clocks and the steering wheel it should come off to reveal two Torx screws which are holding your instrument cluster in place.
Undo these two screws, then remove the fuse panel cover on the right hand side.
Reach in through the gap and push at the back of the instrument cluster to remove it.
There are two multi-plugs one one either side to remove then you will have the instrument cluster in your hands.

IIRC the pastic outer cover is held in with clips, remove these and you can clean to your hearts content.

Then reverse the above to put them back!!
