I'd love to see one again !

Yeovilton is also on this weekend.

Trouble is, they are both miles and miles from me.

Might have to wait for Farnborough, which is just down the road.

Fantastic to see XH558 fly again, I saw her last in 1992 on her last display flight. The B52 had technical problems. If anyone is going tomorrow, bear in mind the traffic getting in and out was unreal. I cued for two hours to get in!

An absolutely fantastic plane. I saw one at an airshow 'when I were a lad' probably about 20 years ago, I can't remember where. I do remember my mate & I shouting down each others ears & not being able to hear each other because the Vulcan was circling with it's bomb-bay doors open, it looked cavernous in there! Those Rolls Royce Olympus engines make such a phenomenal deep rumble combined with an ear splitting crackle, even the ground was vibrating underfoot!
Magnificent cold-war relic, the initial design concept was drawn up in 1947!
Has the show been & gone now then? I wasn't aware of it.

    Big Col,
Went to Yeovilton, it was good except for the weather, initially just a 45 mph wind which wasn't cold but later, a squall came through and the temperature went down to 9 degrees...and in July, Oh how I hate our crap non existent summer, same as usual year after year.
Went home early along with 80% of the rest that went there.

    Big Col,
Did you ever go to Boscombe down, A&AEE, Empire Test Pilots School?

Saw the vulcan there some years ago, along with the Rockwell B1B and the
F111 and the Russian Antonov transport, amazing.
Advance weather for Farnborough suggests the weather will be....crap

Great stuff, I think my Father-in-law and brother-in-law are going to an air show this weekend where it's flying. I did a track day two years ago at Bruntingthorpe where they were restoring it but didn't get a chance to see it.
