I am considering running my 2004 Audi A4 2.0 TDI on Biodiesel. I have been reading up all over the place and everyone seems to have a different opinion.

Can anyone tell me if i can run my car on it safely and if i need to mix it?

I have sourced an approved Biodiesel outlet in my area from http://www.biodieselfillingstations.co.uk/region02.htm

They have confirmed that my car can run on it but i don't know if to trust them.

Err... does it not say in the filler cap, not for biodiesel??

I'm pretty sure you can;t run the 2.0TDi VAG engines on Biodiesel at all, due to the high pressure in the injectors IIRC!!

Could be wrong, but I'd be more tempted to trust Audi than a petrol station!! And I think it'd invalidate any warranty you had!

I wouldn't even entertain the thought!!
The possible damage you could do would more than certainly outweigh the miniscule savings of a weak mix!!!

    Sucks huh??

    Hi Tamsila,

    Same as above I'm afraid!!
If you look inside your filler cap it will say Not for Biodiesel.

I'm sure someone on here will be able to give you the technical reason for it but I'd guess it is to do with the high pressure of the PD injectors.

Basically, I woudn't risk it! Audi haven't said no just to be nasty, there must be a reason!!
