Hi all, i'm thinking off selling my 2.0 GTi for the 1.8t & remapping it, however, i can't find any decent specs of what the cars like after the remap, no 0-60s, no comparisons to other cars etc.

Can anyone tell me what they're like up against the hothatches like Clio 182, Type R, Focus Rs etc etc.

What are the 0-60 times after a remap please?

    Thank you in advance.

Your best bet is going on parkers guide, as this has 0-60's of cars etc...

Funny that, I have a 2.0 Gti as well, and have thought of selling it as well. Im finding 1st and 2nd gear there is a little bit of power, but then 3rd and 4th kindve drag a bit. The only research Ive done on remapping my 2.0 is that I can get about a 14bhp gain with Angel tuning, have you researched that at all? I mean that will bring it to just under 130Bhp, which doestn really seem worth doing at this point. What are your thoughts on your 2.0 ?????

beano as far as i know, the 1.8t after remap is around 180,so u shouldnt be too far away from the clio, saying that the clio isnt as heavy as the golf, but as for focus,no mission,as for the type r,yes maybe off the lights slightly but you wont have the legs for when the "vetacccc yo", kicks in . my opinion only folks

Brilliant cars, love mine but it's just got no power. The 2.0 probably has the same amount of power/0-60 as your average family van.

I agree with the 1st & 2nd gear, when you get the revs right when pulling away it does actually feel quick, but after that it's gutless. You can drive along at 40mph in 4th gear, put your foot to the floor & nothing will happen.

I'd rather get a 1.8t then remap the 2.0, saying that tho, i've been looking at the MR2 Turbos.

Thanks, yup the Golfs weight sucks, it seems like the R32 needs much more power then the other hot hatches just to keep up. Probably why the older Golfs are faster?

If you look at the performance figures of the 180bhp GTi Anniversary or non Anniversary like mine, that will give you an idea of what a remapped 150bhp 1.8T should be achieving. Its not an exact science due to the 6 speed gearbox in the 180bhp but will give you an idea. I believe mine is 0-60 in 7.2secs which is over a second quicker than the 150bhp. Top end mine is 140mph compared to 134mph for the 150bhp. Gives you a rough idea....

Super, thank you. Some of these remapping places are saying over 200bhp & some 190bhp, is 180bhp the true figure do you think?

Depends on how hard you want to puch it and whether the 1.8T has a K03, K03s or K04 turbo. 150 can reach 200hp or we can tune to 180.

We will give you the best advice we can then it's up to you to decide what to do.

    Cheers, Mark
