Hi, I know there are lots of posts on this topic, my 03 plate 130 diesel orginally had limp mode problems, turned engine off then it re-sets itself and works again, changed Maf, all vaccum pipes and solved problem for 25k miles.

Now the problem I have is that the turbo does work again albeit when I accelerate gently I can feel it cut in gently but not fully, although on hard accelaration it feels like limp mode. I have changed all vacuum pipes, tested MAF by swapping with a mate's car, and no difference and replaced thrust sensor, still no better. Any ideas?

Also will get VAG com diagnosis to get fault codes, can anyone recommend anyone locally to Slough?

sounds like the vanes of turbo are sticking. it is possible to clean them sometimes.
would suggest you try searching "turbo vanes",although the turbo may be beyond
    repair.
    regards,

It does sound like the vanes are clogged or the actuator is not functioning properly, have you checked the egr valve?

this was the problem with mine, turbo vanes were not moving, this was first spotted by using the suck test on the turbo actuator which controls the vanes, cos on mine it was very difficult to move the rod, but now after turbo vanes have been cleaned, it now moves freely, which goes to show just how clogged up it must have of been.
also had the egr valve cleaned but this made no difference on my car

I would have a look at the EGR valve and make sure that it is operating correctly and not sticking. you can watch it operate by revving the engine briefly up to 3k or so and then taking your foot off the throttle.

Update: got a VAG com reading done and it showed a fault with air flow meter circuit/airflow meter, took to Audi as the air flow meter was less than a year old, they did a vag com reading and said it was a wiring fault not the air flow meter faulty, read another post yesterday that the airfow meter was on the same fuse as the reversing light, 4 weeks ago cigarette lighter fuse blew so took reversing light fuse as temporary measure. Put new fuse in for reverse lights problem cured, turbo now working fine.

That's just mad. I still can't believe that. Being cynical I'm sure Audi did that on puporse.. what a great way to get cars in and charge...
