    HI

    Has anyojne replaced the battery in the keyfob from a B6 Passat, if so can you advise how to do it ?, the handbook tells you to take car to dealer,

    Can't be that hard.... Can it..

    Easy-peasy. Release the 'emergency' key from the remote/push & drive key by depressing the button on one end of the chrome cap. Push against the other end of the chrome cap and the cap will move sufficiently to clear said button. Lift the cap off which allows you to prise apart the two halves of the remote. You will then see the battery, one of the larger button types, CR2032, I think, in wide domestic use in things like scales, etc. I buy 'em by the dozen off the web.

    The battery is a bit of a fiddle to remove, more so to replace. I failed to get the new one in in time so the remote lost synch. Not a problem to re-synch. as explained in the handbook.
