May this be a fuse problem?

I don't think it would be a fuse problem. More likely to be as audia4lyn suggested - the battery in the siren unit. I have also had problems with my alarm when I turned on the 'confirm anti-theft beep' function using VagCom. Whenever I locked the car, the alarm would beep once (as intended) then more often than not would continue to beep. I have from time to time heard the alarm at random intervals but cannot be 100% sure it was my car as the indicators were not flashing. I have since disabled the 'confirm anti-theft beep' and not had any problems. I haven't got round to doing any more investigations yet.

I'm pretty sure this is the failing internal battery, this problem was coming up a lot on here not that long ago. If you have a search I think there's guide to replacing the supposedly non-replaceable battery unit to save yourself some money.
