ESP warning light is up all the time in my Seat Toledo-been up for a couple of days now, looked in the owners manual which is a bit vague - car seems fine though.
Will struggle to get it to a garage anytime soon unless its absolutely necessary. any ideas?

Is the ABS light also illuminated?

Check your brake lights. If one is out that may be your problem.

Otherwise I would get a VAG-COM diagnostic scan done, which can save you lots of time and money. Drop a post into the VAG-COM user locations thread as there might be somebody in your area willing to help.

If you do change the MAF, for the love of the forum fit a genuine one! Even the Bosch 'replicas' are useless and can make the problem worse rather than better.

If the warning light is lit then there must be a code stored, trying to find the problem without checking fault codes is like playing the lottery. Every once a while somebody wins, but usually only after having paid a bunch of tickets...

As mentioned, next step - fault code read. It's pointless throwing money at it when there will be a fault code stored.
