Hi everyone. I've got a 2005 A6 2.0 TDi with the 140bhp engine. Audi have put the 170 bhp version in almost every other car in the VW / Audi range - does anyone know if they're going to put it in the A6? I suspect that it may position it too close to the 2.7 TDi for bhp, but wondered if anyone had some inside info.

    Thanks

i heard to things about a year ago about this.... Audi was going to get rid of the A6 Saloon S line 2.7 TDI 170 PS multitronic but decided to keep it and push it upto 180.... hence the reason for a mid range point... the 140 BHP..TDI..

I think in this next year or so the 2.0 TDi may me put in at 170 BHP TDI, as its not differnet to been in the A4.... if you look at the A4 line up the engines, 2.0TDI 170BHP and 2.7TDI 180 have a £3k price differance?? yes therea bit more torque?? 3k for 10 BHP...

Then theres the 3.0 TDI @233....

I think the 2.7 needs remapping to 2 models 170BHP and a 205BHP for a nice half way marker!!

    RickT
