Can anyone help with S reg polo 1.4 problem. Engine stops suddenly when driving within a couple of mins of start-up. No judder, no uneven running. - looked electrical. Changed coil as this apparently is a problem, but problem still there. Any common fault that anyone knows of? Engine re-starts immediately afterwards and does not fail thereafter for that run, and engine runs well - may be heat related/electrical?
Seems to only happen on start-up after a protracted stop.

Hi im new here and have a P Reg 1.4 Polo 16v.
I had the exact same problem but was only for a couple of days.
Only happened about three or four times and tended to be in the morning when the temperature wasnt at its highest(eg engine temp still low).

I then thought that my engine oil might of just been under making it stop when its coldish even though i noticed no lights come up etc, just the engine switching off after an protracted turn,so i topped the engine oil up a teeny wee bit, never had the problem since but i agree with g40jon and think that its a dirty connection.
