    Hi I wonder if anybody can help

    I have a knocking noise that seems to be on the driver side rear when I de-celarate is this a bearing or a shaft or joint problem. also is there likely to be an easy fix?

    tried that but no joy. It only knocks when I take my foot of the accelarator. It sounds like it comes from the back but I suppose the way noise travels it could come from anywhere.

    Try emptying everything (and I mean everything) from every cubby, drawer and box in the car and then see if it still makes the knock.

    It's surprising how much money people have spent on garages finding it was actually their can of de-icer making the funny noise.

    Having said that I once dismissed my wife's claim of a 'funny knock' on her fiesta, only to find one of the engine mounts had broken and the engine was hanging on the gearbox!

    Other tips, take all the seats out, get someone else to drive it then physically put your ear to the floor and narrow down the location.

    Had similar problem with my 2004 touran and it was the rear tortion bar that was broken.
