    Hi

How would you know that your ABS is not working properly? Would this have any impact on the braking system?

    thanks

    crasher,
judging by your very speedy reply to his call for help, and his lack of response to your question,we can only assume that the lucky guy was on

If there is any fault at all, the ABS light will be tiggered and it will stay on all the time..

Once this light stays on the ABS will be de-activated to ensure the braking system will work with out fault.

    Sorry guys

Was busy trying the car on the highway. The light comes on and goes off as usual.

The reason I asked is I have noticed that when I apply my brakes and release it 4-5 times successively, it then becomes difficult to brake. The car will take more time to slow down as if the brake pad is just skidding over the brake disc. I am sure this is not normal but applying brakes 4-5 times successively is also not a common occurence.

That indicates a problem with the brake servo. By repeatedly pressing the pedal you will deplete the vacuum in the servo but it should easily deal with this. Two common problems are water damage to the servo from the plenum chamber filling up with water due to blocked drains and the other is a simple vacuum leak in the system or a vacuum pump fault. A vacuum problem will often also cause turbo boost delivery issues as the turbo vane actuator system is controlled by the same vacuum as is used for the servo.

Possibly also brake fade? Given the location of the OP in Mauritius there's an increased risk of overheating surely? If no joy with the servo might be an idea to try some uprated brake discs capable of handling higher temperatures.
