Stop the car, turn off the ignition, restart and all will be back to normal for the next two miles! does it in manual, drive and sport mode....

Had my car back yesterday PM, and just got back from a 500 mile round trip to Cambridge, and none of the old jerkyness \ snatching.. so very happy now after thinking for the last 6 months that the passat was no where near as good to drive as my previous golf V dsg.... I may be changing my mind now....

I have read a lot of commentary about the DSG on our Aussie forums too, but they all relate to the "snatchiness" of the box from a stationary position. It seems the common theme is that you have to get used to the gearbox and the way it engages (and disengages the auto-hold or park brake if you have either engaged) and adapt your driving style to suit the situation AND the gearbox/engine combination. From memory, manual transmission was not an option on any Aussie spec Passats so we are all using DSG boxes...

My beast only has 2800km on it so far so is tigher than a fish's you-know-what but I am getting used to the take-off and have not needed to put the neck-brace on my wife for about two weeks now.

    What does MFA stand for??
