Rear door trim bent !

Hello everyone - just join and amazed at what a great resource this is.

One question I hope someone can help with.

Have an 02 plate Passat 130TDi Estate.

On the drivers side rear door the front edge of the black (no chrome) plastic door trim that is stuck on the outside of the door must have come away slightly from the door. On opening the door, rather than sliding neatly behind the drivers door has been lifted by the back edge of the drivers door and is now bent outwards at about 90 degress to the door !

I guess I could try to glue it back but think that it will only just happen again and the bend has caused a crease so it will never look right.

Anyone also had this problem - Does anyone know where to source cheap replacement trim. I'm sure VW will tell me it's at least £50 for the part and more for the fitting ! Anyone removed and replaced this part ?

I had this problem with mine.

The part is quite cheap, have a look in the VagCat catalogue for the part number,

their quoted price is 11.5 euros

The chrome/painted ones are expensive... about £30 each, but the black ones are just a few pounds each.
