    80 1.9 TDI 90hp.
Can anyone advise me whether it is advisable to bypass/disable this valve to stop the inlet coking up.With my older model, is it possible to just remove and blank the vacuum pipe which operates it.I have read many articles on this and opinion seems to be divided.

Yes, it is advisable with regards to soot buildup in the intake manifoil.
No, it is not advisable with regards to emmisions.

Yes this works fine, no fault codes or anything. You could actually entirely remove the EGR valve and pipe by putting on blocking plates with gaskets on the intake- and exhaust manifoil.

You should be able to dial it out in Adaptation 10 using VAG-COM but I agree with Alcaid, it is not an environmentally responsible thing to do.

    Ok Thanks

I think i,ll probably leave it for now, some of the really bad pictures i have seen are American diesels, their fuel must be quite bad as mine is nowhere near as bad as theirs, and mine has now done 165,000.
