    Hi,

I've been looking into CAIs and wondered if anyone had any suggestions into which is the best?

Also, is the K&N induction kit not a CAI? Not dead sure about these things but I think they're pretty much the same? It's just that I've heard a few people say it's not worth upgrading to these kits, but then on the other hand some people have said u can see 5 - 10bhp and torque increases as well as lowering air temperature considerably.

    Many thanks

I have a standard 57i K&N inductionj kit on my 1.6 and i cant say i noticed any difference apart from a better engine note.

With a heavily tuned car its well worth it but i would go for the K&N Typhoon or maybe the Pipercross Viper intakes. I've heard good things about these, they locate the filter away from the engine in order to suck in cooler, denser air which is protected from heat by carbon fibre pipes (on the pipercross)

They are quite expensive though, you're looking at about £250, depends wether you're willing to pay so much for so little difference. If you have an exhaust system i would definately go for it, and then maybe a remap!

    Good luck!

If your not already re-mapped, I'd save up a bit more and do that instead. The stock inlet system flows remarkably well and is cold air.

Keeping the stock setup also means you don't have to worry about hyrdolocking the engine every time you drive through a puddle either.
