    Hi All,

I have a 07 2.0 tdi 170 sline, I am looking to add auto boot via the remote, can this be done asa retro fit, or can it only be done via the main dealer.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

    You have a saloon?

It can be retro-fitted. You need to replace both boot hinges though, as well as both gas struts.

Yes it is saloon model? Do you know where to obtain the module. www.vwcruise.com say they will fit, as they can not obtain the module. I dont knopw much about fitting is so would not be confident in fitting it myself.
    Regards,

There is no module for a B7 A4!

The auto boot on the B7 simply opens the boot up using springs on the boot hinges. There is no option to close the boot via the remote. That was only available on the A8 and Q7 etc.

Thanks Issac, you know of anyone one or where you can get genuine parts so that is dosnt effect the audi warranty.

Get them from your Audi dealer? IIRC the hinges are about £30 each, 2 needed of course, they will also need painting and fitting. I think the springs are about £15 and the gas struts are about £25 each (2 needed)

I thought about doing this to mine but couldnt really justify £200+ just to lift the bootlid up!

If you were able to open and close the boot from the remote then I would have had it done.
