Ticking noise when starting up only

PLease help. I have a 2003 Audi A4 2.0 standard (manual) 175 000km full service history. For the past couple of days I cab hear a ticking noise for about 1 or 2 seconds when I startup the engine.

The engines performance is still the same as previously.

Whats interseting is that it only happens when the car has been standing still for some time. In the morning or after work. Something tells me it must be something to do with oil or oil presure not lubricating where it is suppose to.

Surely this cant go away with just chaninging the oil. Its due for its next oil change in about 5000km.

Anyone, please advise where to start!

Sounds normal.

Probably the hydraulic tappets filling themselves up with oil.

Interesting though if it has not previously done this.
