please help, my front cup holder is broken on the left side, and stuck in the dash.

sometimes when "wiggled" it comes out, but still cant be used as it not stable.

how easy is it to take out, might be able to mend it if it's out of the dash.

don't particularly want to use it as a drink holder, it just annoys me that it broke!!

has been broke since i had the car and never bothered about it.

i know they are not that expensive to replace from Vag-parts.

It want to remove the cup holder and replace it with a new one, you'll need to do the folloiwng

Clip of the plastic trim of the centre console which sits just above the cup holder and coin holder tray. The best way to remove this is to put a screwdriver on bot sides and push towards you as it slides out more that clipping out.

You'll then need a thin straight screwdriver. You'll see two little clips that hold the drink holder compartment into the din cage. You'll need to press these clips down and the cup hold compartment should slide out. The two clips are not very visible so you may need a torch

The new cup holder just slides in and will clip in place. Hope that helps

    cheers

are you talking about the trim strip (mine's black, but maybe wood effect or aluminium etc) that runs along the dash and over the glove box??

i know the door trim equivalent comes off to gain access to door trim clips, as the weather strips had to be removed for my window tints to be applied

No, you do not need to remove that trim.

The trim i refer to is part of the centre console. If you take a look at your cup holder and i assume you've got a coin holder next to it, its the plastic trim just above these two items which is part of the centre console.

You'll need to remove this trim to remove the cup holder. Any doubts, give us a shout

    cheers for that Bez

had a look earlier, but got extremely P I $ $ E D off when i looked up and had a parking ticket on my windscreen!!!

turned out it had the wrong reg number on it and i panicked about nothing, but wasn't in the mood to carry on!!

I'll take another looky tomorrow, but if there chance of breaking it further, i'll just leave it as is!!
