Where's the easiest place to pick up a 12V permanent and 12v switched power supply in the dash/centre console/glovebox area ? Cigarette lighter, radio, glove box light ?

Looking at fitting a car kit and easiest tidy way of hooking it up.

    Ta, John

To get both permanent and switched the best and easiest place would be to tap into the back of the head-unit.

This will drain a little power from the stereo though so depends whether you like to listen to the stereo loud all the time. If you do then run a dedicated power lead straight from the battery to your stereo.

When I’ve put sat-navs etc in I always just use the switched feed to the cigarette lighter as these are never normally used, this way the power comes on when the ignition is turned on.
