Halfords will sting you for between £93 - £120 but try and get a trade card and this will considerably reduce the above prices.

a battery is a battery and it will still be a battery where ever you get it from. the dealer would be the last place i would go for one.
you can get one from any motor factor at a fraction of the price of a dealer,
and believe it or not, you can choose what price you pay for it!
yes, important that you get the right amperage, but after that,if you stay away from the dealer,or halfords, you can choose what price you pay for it.
you will be shown a battery, and upon confirming that that is the correct one you will be offered three prices.
yes, three prices for the same battery.
the more you pay,the longer the "warranty" period will be.6mths,1yr,2yr.
take the cheapest option,6mths, and save yourself some cash.
thier is no way that you would easily make a warranty claim after 6mth, so why throw money at them?
yes, i can hear everyone saying that they would fight a claim after 6mths,
but if the car is stuck in the drive and you have to get to work, how long could you fight it?
the dealer,or an independant is the way to go for diagnostics, but batteries? no.
they will sell you a warranty you could never prove.
    regards,
    stewy.
first time i was up a ladder i was down a well

whats also weird is i was quoted £128 from vw , local factors £66 and for £66 i got a good make of battery by the way .

yet toyota quoted me £48 for the wifes rav 4 , genuine toyota part battery 4 years guarantee , yet local motor factors quoted me £80 quid , seems the charge what the hell they like at times.

I was in need of a battery today, and after phoning around found that the dealers was only £9 dearer than the cheapest motor factors locally and for that price they'd bang in a new pollen filter - happy chappy at dealer prices bizarre
