Reverse lights not working

I'm gonna post this here, even though I've posted in this thread https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...ad.php?t=33428 as the titles not that great on it.

My reverse lights don't work. I've changed both bulbs and although the vehicle handbook has a symbol for the reverse light in the fuse box I can't find the fuse. On the above thread they talk about a switch/connection on the gearbox and I'm wondering if this is valid statement, especially seeing as the dmf/clutch was done not too long ago...

fuse 7 is for reverse lights, the switch is on top of the gearbox 2 wires black on blue and black on green,the black on green is the power supply wire,check if you have 12v,with ignition on,if so, bridge the two wires, if the reverse lights work you have a faulty switch,if not, there is a break in the wiring from the switch to the rear light cluster.

Checked fuse 7, its fine so I guess its a look at the gearbox tomorrow then! Cheers for your help mate

Got it sorted, the connector for the switch on the gearbox was disconnected, plugged it in and hey presto!
