Hello guy's,went and purchased a ST3 self tuning device from ChippedUK only to find that the device would not communicate with the ECU,to cut a long story short I drove 130 mile's to ChippedUK's head quarter's to let them see if they could get it to work,Jayson and his lad's spent 2 hr's on it trying everything only to fail at trying to get it sorted, top lad's never even charged me a penny for over 2hr's of hard work, they also told me that I should get it reset by my Revo dealer to complete 100% stock only then would I be able to use the ST3,is this because Revo don't want anybody tampering with their files so have put some sort of protection on it? More worrying though was none of the equipment they had(which was more than a VW dealer would have!)would write anything to the ECU and I was told it had Revo stamped all over it,so if my local VW dealer had to do any software upgrade's they would have been unable to do so,hopefully the Revo dealer will have my original stock map and be able to put this back on,I don't mind paying for it even thogh I had paid nearly £750 inc the SP1 switch.Any Revo authorised dealer's have any comment's on this.

This isn't the first time I've heard this, and I don't want to be the bearer of potentially bad news but I've also heard that it is very difficult (If not impossible) to get your car back to tally standard!!!! Something they don't tell you when you rock up!!

Let us know how you get on as I'm sure there are many people in your position.

Hello again,it seem's that the Revo dealer say's that he can reverse the map to stock completely, going to see him Tuesday afternoon, would it be wise to take Chipped UK's ST3 device there and check it after it's done?

I would say so!! Then at least you can say to him there and then it hasn't worked.

If it doesn;t work I would be wary of letting them carry on trying, depending on how good the guy is, would maybe try getting them to accept that Audi might have to do it! Just a thought.

Right lad's it's sorted!Went to my Revo dealer who tried for about 1 hour without success then he rang somebody else and he told him to leave the ignition on for around 20min's without starting the car and it should reset the ecu lockout protection which it did and I left with a smile on my face,This is a warning to anybody with Revo thinking about getting a remap from somebody else, you will have to get it reset from the Revo dealer who did your car as everybody else has no chance, just a big thank's to Jayson from Chipped uk and Matt from The racing line in Halifax for putting an end to my problem's,don't get me wrong the Revo map was superb and I had no other trouble with it other than this.

You will find most trail maps do this, but like you found out any software company should be able to revert back to stock code if required.
