today i tried to put the driver window down to talk to some people at work as i was leaving, and nothing, the window wouldnt work, the passenger side works ok, but i dont think it is the switch, as it doesnt work off the key buttons either, any ideas? and a rough price would be great

    thanks in advance

    i'd check the fuse 1st

then perhaps the wiring loom into the door.

lastly, i'm led to believe they are a cable pulley type operation, not scissor action, so it could be a problem there.

i was told by the guy who tinted my windows, that Audi door cards are a slut to get off

    hey thanks for the reply

i've just checked the fuses, one fuse does both front doors, so it can't be that, although i checked it anyway and its ok, what i did notice though is that the only electrical things that work on the drivers door are the passenger side window control, and the central locking rocker switch. Both mirrors, drivers window, and the two alarm buttons dont work (if thats your car in that picture i have the same model so im sure you know what i mean)

so i think that its either a relay or a wiring fault, don't think that its the window motor, i'll get it checked out

thanks very much for your reply

the brown one hasnt broken yet, its on its way, the red and black one has tho, whats the best method to fix them as its very fiddley, and where did you get the extra wire from,as im sure it will have to be of a certain grade (i'm no sparky, i know nothing about electrics, im a heating engineer)

to be honest it was a sunday night an i was stuck in wales of all places !
mine was playin up for a few week and couldnt be ***** to sort it worked wen door was shut didnt work when open finaly packed up so with nowhere open i got a piece of 3 core kettle wire got my hands on a soldering gun and did it with that its been ok so not gona bother to redo it i have got the loom for it but IF ITS NOT BROKEN !
it is fiddly but with a lil care it wont take long u could try the small conection blocks they will give enough room to extend it
