Not sure how good they are but you can buy those AC cleaning aerosol cans. You turn your aircon on (recirculation mode), set the aerosol off and jump out the car for 5-10 minutes.

It kills the bacteria etc that lurk in the AC system/vents.

The biggest cause of this stink is not replacing the pollen filter and spores build up. Has it been replaced? Also check plenum for any water as this is how I found out mine was. The water had gone stagnent

Failing that you can run one of those aerosols through the system, they do seem to work as long as the filter is changed regular. I do mine every 12 months max!

    Hi

Try the link below for where and how to change the pollen filter.

    https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...ghlight=pollen

I've just changed mine. I bought it from Eurocarparts. They use Hengst products which are good. Only cost £7 ish! Worth doing every year. The one from last year was black.

I bought a carplan air con aerosol spray. There are many different ones. You put the air con on low temp and full blast. Ensure all vents are open. The aerosol is best places in the back footwell with the front seat (either driver or passanger) pushed forward. Takes about 5 or 10 mins.

    This should help.

it under the passenger side plastic panel or to the right of where the battery is as viewed from front looking to the rear of vehicle. i normally run the air con without the pollen filter inplace and spray the air con spray thing into the direction of the hole and then when done. replace pollen filter.
