    How's it going everyone?

Just joined the forum today for a bit of help & advice.

I've got an Audi A4 ('05) 2.0 tdi which up until today I've been v.happy with!

A mechanic friend ( a proper friend, not someone that's after work 'cos he doesn't get his hands dirty anymore) parked it for me yesterday and the informed me that I've probably got a problem with the Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) 'cos it vibrates/judders on start up & stop, that combined with the juddering problem I've been experiencing on low speed pull aways and that it's a common problem with VAG vehicles didn't sound good!

Brilliant news, I thought so I phoned the local Audi dealer to check it out......."bring it in,sir,we'll check it out for you.....blah,blah......but if it is the DMF then it could cost £1000-1500 quid" !!??!

When I got home, after I kicked the cat & grumbled at the good lady I decided to do a bit of research and find out what is the prognosis bferoe I got to the pub & drown my sorrows while I can still afford it!

    Any help would be appreiciatd

    Cheers!

Not always the dmf.there is a modified thinner clutch plate for this issue and also a software update to reduce the amount of torque when pulling away to prelong clutch service life.
