the odd whiff of diesel I can put up with, but should I be concerned by the "control limit exceeded...." code, or should I ignore it like VW have told me too. They would say that wouldn't they

They told me to ignore it when I had it on a new set of injectors that came in a £2.5K genuine head and I told them I would not ignore it. I went through hell over 4 weeks trying to get them to deal with it. In the end they replaced one injector when it needed two but reused to go any further.

hi, i got my 55 reg 140 passat in march.

alomost immediately i noticed the boot was getting dirty, and it looked like soot residue.

i took it to my local vw dealer ( tl darby in burton upon trent) they diagnosed a faulty injector, the fault read
unit injector solenoid valve - cylinder 1 -N240
value above upper control limit, sporadic.

i rang the dealer who supplied the car, and he booked it in to his local vw main dealer. they said there was nothing wrong with the injector but the fuel pump needed replacing, this was done. i took it back twice first they replaced the pd pump then the tank pump.

anyhow 6 months later and still the car smokes, took it back yeaterday 93rd time) and now their vw main dealer has found the same error, only the dealer i bought it from is now going to change the injector wiring first.
obviously hoping he can save a few quid.

luckily i kept my old car when i bought the replacement,

i was told by vw customer services that when a pump faisl it can also damage the injector. does your car smoke
