    Hi All,
Still loving my new 53 plate Cab 3.0 sport - but my current forward facing kids seats (for 4 year old and up) doesn't fit very well.
I have one similar to this one http://www.britax.co.uk/index.php?op...id=9&Itemid=31

Basically the rear head rest of the car gets in the way and stops the back of the child seat from being flat against the back of the car seat. It ends up being too upright and will leave a dent in the head rest if I keep using it.

I could just sit them on a simple booster cushion but I like the head protection offered by these kinds of steats and it's better when they fall asleep.

Does anyone have a recommendation for the A4 cab for a forward facing child seat for 4-11 years old that fits better against the back of the car seat?
Or can you remove the rear head rests? (says you can't in the manual)?

    Thanks
    Ken
PS what a dilemma - child safety or keeping my leather rear headrests looking good

I'm having the same problem finding a seat that fits and offers the best protection - AUDI don't recommend any for this model which is great

Our council run a scheme to test seats before you buy them and have a greater range than any store, so I will go along there to see what they say.

Cool - let me know if you find anything useful.
I can't believe Audi don't make a rip off one as I'm sure plenty would buy it even at the inevitably high price if it fitted properly. Not really sure what they could do as the seat needs to be high enough which means it will get "stuck" on the head rest and not fit against the seat back properly.
    Good luck though!

I have the Maxi Cosi Tobi (upto 4 yrs) that we swap between my wifes Audi Allroad and my 04 A4 Cab. The Cabriolet is actually the pictured on the Maxi Cosi site and shows the older version also so should have no trouble with that. See here and click on 'Comfort'.

I don't think Audi had the cabriolet in mind when it came a family car lol , it's a bit like expecting them to have a car seat for the TT

I have finally been able to get to the 'try before you buy' scheme run by my council and the only seat they would recommend is the Concord Lift Protec. It's not perfect, but it was the best one they suggested. So the order is in for one.

They also said that a child can sit in the child seat in the front of the car, where the in-built headrest does not cause a problem as it can be removed, whereas they can't in the rear. As long as the car seat is as far back as possible so reducing the impact of the air bag should it go off.

cool - thanks for the update and let me know how you get on with it when you've had a chance to try it etc.

As for A4 cab being a family car - except this slight niggle it is great now that my kids a bit older and don't need buggies and travel cots etc. Boot big enough for a weekend away and they love it with the roof down (always sends my 3 year old to sleep somehow!) Rear seats OK for adults but big enough for kids in the back - LOADS bigger than TT or RX8 or A5

Had the new seat for a week now and no problems, I use it in the back at the moment as the head restraint on it fits under the car's headrest so the back of the child seat is in contact the car's seat (with my daughter in it) which is what it has to do otherwise it is dangerous. Every other seat there is a gap between the two seats and in a crash it can cause the child seat to break therefore offers little protection. Hopefully I never find out if it really is safe!!!

Hi - I'm glad you got one sorted 'imaccat'

In case others are interested in an other option. The Maxi Cosi seats, although look as if the headrest is obstructing the top of the carseat, does reach firmly against and into the back of the seat... I think the top of the carseat allows for the protruding headrest.

    Hi zeratul,

I did try that seat at the 'try before you buy' scheme, but the council wouldn't recommend that particular seat as it didn't fit against the seat. That may be due to my daughter not being heavy enough to push it down and back, but may be ok for other children.
