I have a leaky rad on my 06 2.0 TDI 140. Tonight I took the plastic tray off and right at the bottom on the near side there's water dripping and it's not coming from anywhere else. The fins or veins (or whatever) don't look all that good compared to the other rows so I wonder if the rad was a dodgy one that's just failed. Car is out of warranty as it's done 75k but I may still ring VW and see if they'll do it as a goodwill gesture as a failure at 2+ years is ridiculous.

Anyone else had a similar problem?

Hi There it might be the the O ring in the quick release connection on that side of the radiator. If it is the rad thats gone VW will charge about £500 quid to replace. If you know how to replace it yourself it would take approx 3-4 hours and a new rad would cost £78. I know because i've jus done mine.

As a matter of interest - £78, is that a genuine VW part?
