I have a 2006 Passat 2.0 TDI SE the car has only done 7000 miles. I seem to be getting a variation in the amount of turbo Lag Its hard to explain but sometimes I put my foot down and the car feels flat and then after a second or two the power surge kicks in and then other times it may only take half a second. Any idea's before I take it back to VW.

Which gears and at what revs?

I find that unless I'm doing about 17-1800 rpm, I get nothing - I get the most power at about 2-3000 rpm

It tends to be when changing from 1st to second and 2nd to 3rd. I have tried to get the revs up above 2k to see if that always corrects it but as mentioned sometimes it picks up fine and others it can lag for up to 2 seconds.

I have booked the car in next week to have it checked out and they have informed me that there is a recall for the fuel pumps which they will change.
