I had a remap done on my 2004 1.9tdi 130 6spd. The rolling road report shows an increase in bhp to 184 from the standard 130bhp. Whats worrying me the most is the standard torque on my car is 285 lbs/ft but AFTER remap the report shows only 275.5 lbs/ft torque!

Surely after a remap the torque and bhp should increase.
Ive been back to have it checked out and the remap was updated to the latest software (so i was told) but now the car seemed slower than before with hardly any torque. I was told its because the fuel ratio has been adjusted and will take up to 50 mile to settle in, but ive over 250miles since and still no torque. Whats going on!!!

Has any one had this problem or had a remap and knows what torque their getting, any advice or views would be appreciated

    Hey there,

That doesn't sound right at all!! I take it you never got a before rolling road session done??
I would expect your torque and bhp to be higher than spec as standard anyway!

Why type of remap did you get? Was it a Revo by any chance?
I would take the rollong road print out to your remap dealer and get them to take it off and get it back to standard FOC, or if they say they can;t get them to pay Audi to do it!!

I had remap and rolling road done at the same place, and your right i didnt get a before rolling road session, I dont want to name and shame these people yet cos it just maybe a case of a small error. I'll be booking another appointment with them and will keep you posted.

The after rolling road session report shows 184 bhp and 275.5 torque. So increase in bhp but not torque

are you sure you are not confusing lb/ft and N/m??

I have a feeling the standard torque of the 130 TDI is 310Nm, which as around 229lb/ft, so I'm not sure where you get 280 from, but 275lb/ft is a significant increase over standard. The 2.0 GT TDI torque is only 258lb/ft or 350Nm.

    Good spot Dod,
I never even noticed that!! D'Oh!

That would explain a lot. After spending so long banging on about my 2.0 TDi having the same torque as the R32 you'd think I'd remember the figures!! lol.

These models are 285nm and some are 315nm. 275-310lb/ft is normal after a remap wwhich equates to 372-420nm.

    Cheers, Mark

An AVF engine on a six speed A4 gives 228.5 lbft so 275.5lbft is a huge increase.

My mistake guys, apologies. I got a little confused between lbsft torque and Nm torque. Even though the rolling road reports showing a high increase in torque and bhp, the car dont seem any faster or pokier. Also i almost got smoked out by another standard audi 130 tdi after the remap. this was a friends car so i know he's aint been remapped.

If the rolling road figures are correct then in theory i should have beat the other standard tdi by miles. Which is the reason im questoning my remap. im re-booked in for monday and hopefully a better result will show.

It may be a good idea to buy a genuine exchange Air Mass Meter from VW to take with you or just fit one anyway.
