Hi there I have got a problem with my AirConndition unit on X Reg A6 1.8T, it does not blow cold(connditioned air). I have had it check for error codes and nothing was found, the compressor unit works fine as I have checked it, I have had the gas in the system renewed and system cleaned and still nothing.
Viewing other airCon related threads I found info about pressure sensor.
Can anybody advice on where I could find it?? so I can check /replace one.
    cheers!

Send me an email not a PM to info@3DAssociates.co.uk and I'll send you the A/C layout diagram with all the location. However most of the operation of these sensors can be seen in the block data with a vagcom. I can not sent the data via PM or posting as the format is lost. Regards Peter

Hi When they cleaned the system did they check the resistor?this is often forgotten and more often the cause of the system not cooling, when everything else is ok.

Hi This is something you can not check yourself as the system has to be emptyed.the resistor is situated in the union on the high pressure pipe. There is a very fine filter on the resistor and when this is choked the gass is unable,to pass through,(no cooling)On vehicles older than 4 years, when we regass the refrigerant system,we have practiced to renew the resistor. For a start it does not cost very much and at the same time it can give an indication if there is something in the system that should not be there.

Yes, these filters can get blocked. Good thing you change them.

Just had both company a6's regassed (by local mobile AC co. - good reputation, so don't think they're pulling a quickey), and both now don't work. Only had one checked (1.9tdi 54 se avant), and they told me compressor is only working 5-10%, so it needs a new one (£600+ Audi, or £300 aftermarket...). They told me these compressor problems are getting more common.
Is this possible, or have they tripped something out when they've vac'ed out & regassed?

If they tell me the other is the same I'll scream! - getting that one checked tomorrow PM.
Anyone know of anything I can check, or at least get them to double check.

    any help/history much appreciated,
    Richard

This may be a daft suggestion, but you havn't pressed the "Econ" button on the a/c control panel have you? (If you have one) as this switches off the a/c
