Ello Ello, new to the forum!

I'm a proud owner of a Mk4 1.6 SR Golf for the last year and a bit since I turned 18 and was looking into making it look that little bit more sporty - I'm not talking a 5ft spoiler and body-kit to smash on any speed-bumps though!

    1) I live in the country and batty farmers in land-rovers seem to contantly be forcing me into hedges, and between that and a puppy which likes to use my off-side door as a scratching post, my car has quite a few scratches (it's black too so it makes it even worse'. I've tried using the Colour Magic Wax and it's pretty good, the chip stick was useless and made the job worse with extra bumpy paint everywhere even though I was really careful. So, at last getting to the question, is there anyway to get my paint 'renewed' at a body shop without having to get it fully resprayed? AND how much dosh am I looking at shelling out?

2)I quite like the Anniversary valences they make reproduction for the Mk4 Golf and I was wondering how easy they are to fit, my farm has a huge tool-shed for my brother's rally car so I have everything minus a mig welder.

3)My exhaust pipe is sadly drooping and don't think any amount of rubbing is going to make it point the way I want, so what should I do to get the R32 look and would I need to cut out any of the bodywork to accomodate it? Also is this job for pro mechanics only or could I get in under with a grinder etc. and give it a go?

4)Engine modificatons (I can feel my insurance company rubbing their hands gleefully as I type) would chipping and adding an induction kit yield noticeable results? Or is there anything else I should be looking to do to give it that extra ummph?

    5) Lastly, as much as I love my beautful CREAM interior, how hard would it be to re-fit a different one from another Mk4, and is there anyway to get rid of the scratches in the vinyl-stuff it's made from because the cream really shows it up?

If anyone can help on any of these question I would be muchos greatful!
    Luke

    1) depending on the depth of the scratches they may polish out by hand. Which you could look into to svae your self some money.

hi m8 why dont you get the 4 motion rear valence £40 from the ******** and get the bumpers smoothed and all colour coded it looks the bo@@ocks m8,plus twin pipe exhaust milltek are really good ones to go for.engine wise not much you can do,remap will give you that extra gain but not much m8 i wouldnt bother till you get a turbo car.

I've seen adverts for chips that say they improve performance by 30bhp, are they just talking a load of rubbish?

30bhp is 100% doable... on a turbocharged car.

I don't think you can get much gains from a naturally aspirated 1.6.

i hav the 1.8turbo had it remapped by echotechperformance and got an extra 47bhp but i also hav a carbinio induction kit 007dv so i am gettin 197bhp but its not about the figues m8 my car pulls like a train now it beat a honda civic type r the other day the torque on the car is awersome thats what it is about, well about ur car you will only get about 10bhp so dont let anyone tell you different put a straight though exhaust induction kit up rate ht leads spark plug that shud give you about 15 to 20 bhp,you can keep on goin moddin cars it is an endless game m8 but good fun.
