Rns 510

After searching through ebay I have managed to secure a new RNS 510 for my passat, now I am anxiously awaiting its delivery to see if I have wasted a grand!
I am hoping the vw ipod connector will still fit, and am wondering if anyone has experience of where to mount the GPS antenna inside the dash. If not well everyone else can learn by my mistakes!!!
On a different note just had a taxi meter fitted and was slightly horrified to see my less than week old car being taken to bits to get behind the dash, and as usual there is always a screw left over when it is back together
If anyone is interested I will do some pics of the installation.

Mine is mounted in the corner under the tax disc on top of the dash and it works fine. I originally wanted it mounted inside the dash and I was told by VW that it will not receive a good enough signal.

Finally got the unit a week ago, piece of p**s to fit, mounted the antenna in the corner of the windscreen via the drivers side fuse panel quite neat if I say so myself. The Rns 510 is fab and I have been loading my music onto the hard drive and find that my ipod link is redundant, apart from any music I downloaded from itunes which cant be transferred! Dvd is great for killing time, not gatting any of the later extra features like the parking sensor display, but hoping that latest software on the new map disc might change that. Well worth the money but best ordered from the factory for estate models as camera for reversing is included
