Hi, has anyone experianced this behaviour with aftermarket Parking Sensors ? (just fitted by me to a 2001 V6 TDi Estate) 6 Sensors :- 2 front and 4 back
Connections simple :- 1) red wire to reverse light
    2) yellow wire to Brake light
    3) Black wire to earth
Picked up what I am sure is the correct mini spade connector's on the back of the left tail light cluster and all works well and correctly untill the lights are switched on, and then whole parking sensor system is knocked out !!!!.
Switch off the lights and the parking sensor system returns to normall !!!!.
The only common connection is the earth point for the lamp cluster which I used for the sensor earth as well.
Can anyone point me in direction of a solution?

    Problem Solved.
It was a little bit of corrosion on the earth pin of the multipin connector from the wiring loom that was not allowing a clean 100% path to earth.

Well done, so do the front ones come on with the brakes? I am interested in front ones (already did rear ones) . Do you have all 6 into one control box?
How did you route the wires from the front?

Hi, Yes the front ones come on with the brakes .
( I have a Tiptronic so the cotroll of the car is easy on the brake), and yes I have a six in one controll box. (brand is CISBO from Ebay @ £31 all in) they appear to be the same as the ones on this very helpfull site:-
    http://parkingsensors.net/

The wiring was routed by cutting the cable and putting it through the rubber grommet near the ECU and Brake Servo unit.( there appeare to be six free penatrations on this grommet)
The plug end of the cable was used in the control box and small dia coax cable used to route along the inside of the dash (using cable ties to keep it neat), then down the A piller along the sill trim and follow the cables you see when you fold a rear seat down to the rear tool stowage space and light cluster unit.
(From the front bumber to the grommet on the bulkhead is your choice really)

The join was done with mini plugs and socket's (from Maplins) just like the ones used on the origional cable to the controll box.
I have loads of the small dia coax if you want a bit just drop me a private line and the length info. Hope this makes sense. Regards Richard
