Am I right in thinking S-Line spec is (and has always been) full leather and black headlining ? I don't like full leather seats but do like the half leather / alcantara ones but don't believe these were available on S-Lines ?

Stuggling to find a 2nd hand 2.0 TFSi that isn't either one or all of Quattro, DSG or S-Line / leather !

on Audi's used car locator i have seen 3 TFSI's with the Sport trim and not DSG or Quattro.

    2005 20k, black, £15k - huddersfield
    2006 24k, red, £18k - preston
    2007 6k, mauritius blue, £17k - sunderland

    Few and far between.

The S-Lines were all Leather as standard unless the person chose the free option of the Speed Cloth, leather sides.

    Thanks for the info prolfe.

Yeh, those are about the only cars I've found. Huddersfield one sounds ok but I don't like black unfortunately. I went down to see the Preston one (just down the road from me) and it turned out its a Quattro - just forgot to list it as such (now I look I can see the quattro badge in the pics)! I was interested in the Sunderland one but the interior pic ain't good - plastics look scuffed and radio surround is different colour to rest of units !? http://usedcars.audi.co.uk/zoom.aspx?Id=501917313

Guess I'll have to be patient.

That one has a huge scratch on the steering wheel. the dealer might change it for you.

The other marks seem ok, the ones by the door card at the bottom are common. the others look like a clean will get rid of them.
might be worth a look if the dealer can sort out a steering wheel

    Otherwise it looks perfect.

    Or:

the 170 TDI - not much difference 30-50 or 50-70 0.5-1 second at the most. In fact 30-70 through the gears there is only 1.3 seconds difference.

    It will also do 145mph

Might be Ok but for a car that's only done 5.5k and is a year old it looks in worse nick than my 6yr old Leon. Poor prep. by Audi at the least. Think I'll give them a ring and ask them why the Concert radio is blue at the same time !

Good point on the 170 TDi. I'll see if they've got one in Preston to see how it drives. Never had a diesel but as you say the performance is v. similar. I only do about 8k a year and journey to work is only 5 miles - any issues with them on short trips ? I think the running costs would work out similar re lower tax and better mpg vs cost of diesel.

Tax is only £145, the 2.0T will be the £210.

Some people have seen the DPF play up on constant short journeys - check with other 170 owners and also you local audi dealer.

Mine's the S-Line with half silver and half black leather... it sounded a bit odd, but I really like it - the red one is a bit iffy IMO and as for that hideous brown thing

I do less than 15k a year and didn't see the benefit of the extra cost of the car + diesel... anything less than 20k pa is questionable (I've done the spreadsheet analysis ad nauseum!)

So I changed from a TDi 140 to a 2.0T Quattro and whilst it's more expensive to run, it's a similar purchase price (ex Demo) and a lot more fun! Had it four months now and never looked back!

I have the 2.0 TDi 170 and have had the DPF warning light come on twice.

It does not like short journeys - so this may give you issues if you only drive a few miles to work.

I don't have an issue if you do one long journey a week (30 or 40 miles)
