I got NCT5 on my A4 and I've done almost 6K on the front and they are wearing well, handle nice in the wet too

just an aside,I was walking around the local car breakers and the number of bent cars with totally worn tyres was tremendouse....i would hazard a guess over half had highly warn if not illegal tyres on

well tyres are the only thing in direction contact with the road, so i think it pays to get something decent.

Generaly speaking, grip is directly proportional to wear, so it depends if you want a long life, a sticky tyre, an equal balance of both, or a slight bias towards grip and longivity.

I personaly use goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, they only last me about a year, they are soft compound, but they are very sticky, which is what i find most important.

Grip in the wet is the reason I use the Uniroyal Rain Sport, now in its second version. I really don’t care about wear rate; a pair of tyres is less than my excess.

I've been using Michelin Primacy for years and found them good grip with good wear. I've just upgraded to 17" 234/45 tyres and have fitted Pirelli P zero Rosso. These are a smooth as the Michelins which were 205/55/16 and have less hum on the road. I really thought 45 profile would be much harsher. Not the case. I really like these Pirellis, excellent in the wet too.
