hi just joined and although i dontown a vw or audi i'm thinking of getting 1 , i cant decide on a golf gti 1.8 t or a diesel model or the audi a3 1.8t any help would be great

as for the model, diesel, all the way baby! i bought my first diesel with the golf gt tdi, i havent looked back, power, plent of low range torque and enough to see off the scrote boy racer wannabes. GTI's i have heard are a slightly faster drive, but youll pay for it in insurance and petrol consumption. diesels, IMO are easier to chip up and tend to go a little further, engines run to around 200k+ if well looked after and hold residuals better. end of the day, depends, do you want economy and strong residuals, or are you a petrol head after some adrenalin
