    Hi,

Missus bought a 04' 1.9 SE three months ago.

Problem is its now had the battery go flat twice now, the weird thing is that the Alarm goes off, the rear lights are constantly on and also the DIS shows a slight amount of light on it.

    The radio dosnt work though...

    Any ideas?

    Dan

There isn't probably enough watt (power) in the battery to turn the engine. This requires a substantial amount of power.

I do know for fact, the alarm and lights use very very veeery little power to still work.

So there, there is still life in the battery but only to operate the alarm, just.

    Hope that kinda helps

Cheers, the main purpose is to find out why the battery keeps going flat. My view is after 3 years the batterys knackered?

There are several reasons why tje battery is de-charging....

    1) Duff battery
    2) Constant drain (short circuit somewhere)
    3) Not being charged Sufficiently.

Take it to halfords (or a garage) and get them to do a couple of tests on the battery and alternator.
