I used a bluefin from superchips on my 2.0 TDI 140, and befroe that I had a dragon performance digital tuning box installed.

Both are very effective and do what they say, but the bluefin remap is a bit smoother and gives a bit more power at higher revs, but the difference is minimal, the main reason i changed is that i felt the tuning box was a bit obvious under the bonnet.

If you look at the superchips site (google bluefin) they quote some pretty impressive gains for the 3.0 TDI, around 50bhp and over 100nm torque increases.

Do you have the ~200 BHP version 3.0 TDI or the later ~230 BHP version?

I have the 200bhp model. Bit surprised today as I went to have it done and the tuner wouldnt do it as mine is a manual version and he said that they munch the clutch and possibe gearbox when remapped. Anybody had any expriences of this???

hmm that doesn't sound good - I've got the 230bhp model, also manual .. I guess that is what has always put me off having a remap in case it did munch the gearbox ...

Not seen that mentioned on any of the websites though, although I guess they wouldn't as that would scare people off...

Your gearbox is strong enough, its your clutch that will probably go. Not a big deal, you can get plenty of aftermarket uprated clutches that will cope with the increase in power and torque all day long.

As far as Im aware the difference between the 204BP engine and the 230bhp engine is a revised map ? Same gearbox etc....

therefore I dont see a problem is mapping the 204bhp engine as the gearbox is strong enough.

I was thinking more the clutch tbh, thats just common sense I suppose. Where can I price an uprated clutch???
