    Hi all,

An update on my previous post which was titled something along the lines of 'car juddering when stationary.'

I am posting on my sisters behalf, she has a Golf mk4, 1.4 S-reg.

It has been really juddering when she is stationary, ie at traffic lights etc. Despite whether its in neutral or in gear it still judders.

She has recently had spark plugs, HT lead & oxygen sensor changed and also paid for VW to look at it...£200 later, they cannot find the cause but have stated the problem as that the car is 'misfiring under 2000rpm'

What would cause this as VW cant even find the problem!!

Also, VW stated her cam belt is a bit loose and makes a noise (but my sis said its been like that since shes had it and never affected anything...however, could it be that the fact this is a bit loose is causing this misfiring, as VW were trying to persuade her to pay ££££'s to have it replaced.

Can someone please shed light on what is causing this. Nothing showed up on a diagnostic scan.

    Thanks so much,
    Cara

    Smokey, Thanks for promt reply..however...

VW done a compression test (as she paid them to do a full engine inspection and it comes as part of this) but again, it showed nothing so according to them theres not a problem with the engine.

As you can imagine she is more than cheesed off!!!

    Now what!???
