    Hi all

Complete noob, with a very basic question, sorry! lol

I have an 04 Sharan and I am going to replace the head unit to one that will take ipod, usb drive, etc. I am thinking I will probably have to remove the glove box to route the wires, or at least removing it will probably make life easier. Can somebody let me know how to get the glove box out, please? I don't want to be ham fisted and break something!

    Thanks.

    Paul.

I think you should be able to change the stereo with taking the glove box out.....

What's in your sharan at the moment? Is it single din, or double din?

Ahhh, I didn't make that very clear, sorry! lol

The unit I am planning on buying has a separate tuner box. According to a friend, there might be enough space to mount the tuner box within the centre console on the passenger side, but I will need to get the glovebox (lower) and side panel out to do it. Also, for routing the cables for the usb hard drive & ipod, it will probably easier with the glovebox out.

I have the single din gamma unit at the moment with the vw cd changer. I will lose the use of the cd changer, but I will gain in other areas. I will use the cd changer as a really expensive 6 cd/dvd storage unit! lol
