    (could escape from the top of the tank though),if there was a leakkage there, the petrol would run down the outside of the tank and not through the inspection plate into the floor,have a look see were the petrol filler neck and pipe runs.Did it start leaking after you filled petrol?

    Hi guys same problem here i hav a 97 polo classic and petrol is leaking from under the back seat onto the floor.I find that it gets really bad when the car is parked of for 2 - 3 days any idea why??????

    hey guys i think i may have found the problem, today i opened the panel and saw petrol "*******" out of one of the pipes took th lip off and it looks a bit worn out,i put another clip on and it seems to be ok for now.althought it only leaks sometimes ill get the piope tomorrow and fix the new one.does any one know how much this will cost and anyonehave any thoughts.will be very much appreciated thanks

    dont know about a polo but the fuel tank is normally under the back seat n it has an opening with an o ring seal. may be u r seal is cut n when u took a sharp corner the fuel spilled out of the tank under the seat so pl check the seal n cover.

    hi check the seal under the rear sear to the tank top

    think the problem is sorted now! was a leaking pipe took the cheapy clip off and fitted a jubilee clip and it seems to be ok(touch wood)
