Hi to all, this is my first post.....I'm looking to remap my 2.0 tdi 140 and I am being quoted figures of 190 bhp and 100+nm of torque gain. The tuner is reputable and has very good feedback from previous people who have had their cars remapped by him although not with this engine! My question is do these gains not seem a little high as I was more expecting 170ish bhp?

It does seem high. I'm looking into this at the moment and I'm seeing 180bhp mentioned and an additional 70nm of torque.

Who is the tuner? Somebody has probably used them before and they can give you more accurate feedback. If you go ahead, let us know the outcome. I'd drive to Cork for 190bhp!

190 is very optimistic. Numbers arent the whole game though. Driveability is much more important that high peak power figures.

A re-mapped car will make different numbers everytime its tested on a different set of rollers.

Yes another tuner is offering me 175bhp,I think this is more realistic. As for 190bhp I'd be expecting the engine to explode...although as I said this guy has no negative feedback from hundreds of customers
