    Hello All,
    I have an A4 B6 2.0 Petrol Saloon.

On Monday morning on my way to work I realised that all 4 of the Windows were not working either from the drivers door controls or each doors individual control switch. Later when I parked the car and tried to lock the car using my fob all doors locked bar the drivers door. I had to lock the drivers door using the car key instead.
I have also noticed now that whilst I drive the car and slow down to approximately 5mph the central locking can be heard clicking. Also when I parked at home today I noticed that the lights were still on as I had turned them on earlier during my journey home but the buzzer warning me that I had removed the key without turning off the lights was not sounding.
Has anyone else ever suffered/encountered what I have explained above and if so how did you resolve the issues.
I have a warranty on this car albeit not with Audi. Would a Warranty cover this?
I would much rather solve this myself. I consider myself to be mechanically mided.
I have replaced an oil cooler on my B5 A4!

Any help or lead on this subject will be appreciated.

    have you checked your fuses??

only thing i had similar to this was a corroded earth strap from the battery to the bodyshell, might be worth a try??

    Hey Screedman,

I agree with Stu, this sounds like an electrical connection problem, and as it is affecting numerous systems which are fairly unconnected it would point me towards an earth connection.
The battery would be the best place to start and then work your way round the fuse boxes and relay boxes checking that all connections are sound and un-corroded.

Let us know how you get on.

    Cheers

    Hello All,

Thanks for your prompt replies, tips and suggestions.

I have checked all the fuses and they seem all ok.

I did however wiggle the wires that run from the car to the drivers side door and the red light that was flashing on the drivers top bit of the door began to come on and off as I wiggled it. I will strip the rubber bit off tomorrow and have a closer inspection of it to see if any wires are broken.
I will also check for any bad earth too.

I will let you know how I get on over the weekend.

    Hello All,

    Thanks Guys. All sorted.

I removed the black rubber casing between the pillar and drivers door and discovered a BROWN wire had broke.
Have rejoined it (with some difficulty) and walla! All non working electrics are now working.

Once agin thanks for all the input.

    Hello All,

    Thanks Stu.

bez101 I did not see any more wires that were bad but same as you I had to add an extra length of wire just to be able to join the broken one. I may solder them at work on Monday but for now I have used a connector block to fix them!
