    Hello Everyone,

I'm soon to take delivery of a new A3 TDI 170. Now already i'm looking to remap the car but the problem been its a company vehicle so need the original map on the car come servicing time etc etc.

For this reason the Superchips "bluefin" box seems like a good option, But is it?

Has anybody used the bluefin remap, or can you recommend anyone who has a good reputation in the midlands area? Like i say i need to be able to revert back to the standard map come servicing!

    Many Thanks

What is your driving style? Do you do alot of round town or mostly motorway?

The DPF on these can be a pain in the ***! Every one we do we ensure it's not too full and often force a regeneration on the dyno then log to see how fast it fills under heavy load.

I'd advise a more custom dyno setup on these to make sure you are not going to have the emissions light on all the time!

We can also offer a remote box which allows you to read and write the ecu, store the original file and two modifications. It's also a basic fault code reader.

I have a bluefin which I have user to remap my A3 170 quattro. It was easy to do and I got good results from it. I even get more mpg! A mate of mine works as head of servicing for the local audi garage. He told me that there is no way of them telling that I have re-mapped my car unless they send the ecu to germany to be examined. The only problem that I might get is if they call my car in for a software upgrade, In this instance he advised me to either return it to the original map or turn it down as several customers have experienced an ecu failure which cost them around £600 to repair.

The explanation i was given is that the remap is simply a slightly modified version of the original and is almost imposible to pick up as being different to the original. This is only what I have been told. Please feel free to inform me if this is incorrect as I will need to return my car back to its original map in that case.
