Remember a coil over kit, no mater how cheap or expensive, can be pretty harsh and difficult to live with on a daily driver.

I sell Vogtland, Weitec, Koni and Eibach.

Don’t let just me put you off, I am getting old and boring! I have coil over Weitec kits on my Golf 1 and Golf 2 GTI’s, a conventional 20-mm lowering kit on my wife’s golf 2 and standard suspension on my daily driver Octavia VRS. Even my 72 Beetle is lowered. You may want to consider a conventional lowering kit but don’t get sucked into the fleaBay cheap rubbish, you need to be spending around £250 to £280 on a good kit like the Vogtland Sport or Weitec GT.

cheers mate.....i,ll bear that in mind....the thing is, the wife uses it quite a bit too, and i don,t want a load of grief off her if its too harsh a ride. Also I tow a caravan and dont want to loose too much height (although I did make the towbar myself and can mod it to suit....Its my job, by the way)
    cheers again...

    Hi,

I'm considering the same thing - lowering the car. I'm not a boy racer, but really like the lowered look of the mk4.

I have a 2000 gt tdi (85kw) 5 door, and have noticed that the car sits higher on the rear than it does on the front.

The only springs I've seen that would level this are the KW, the Eibach only do the same lowering all round (that i've seen). But want the best i can afford. Do i really want the shocks too?? only want the look and bit more body control, not a hard ride. very confused.

    sorry for hijacking.

Don't trust the listed drops, they are only a guide. The Eibach set drops the car flat.

If you do this, order some shortened dampers (Alko are my favourite) to go with them and fit shortened bump stops front and rear if your car doesn’t already have them.

Thanks crasher. There's alot to think about, more than would seem obvious.

Do you supply that kit to post out? or can you recomend a place to get it? dont know if I'm alowed to ask, so appologies.

    Thanks again.
